Restricted Drone Zone Around Clinton Municipal Airport

Effective December 21, 2015 all owners of small drones weighing more than 0.55 pounds and less than 55 pounds must register with the Federal Aviation Administration's (FAA) Unmanned Aircraft System (UAS) registry before they fly outdoors. Cost for registration is $5 and may be completed online by visiting FAA. People who do not register could face civil and criminal penalties. Per FAA regulations, drone operators must contact Airport Authorities if operating within a 5 mile radius of any airport.

Drone operators in Clinton County should contact Clinton Municipal Airport at 563-242-3292 if they will be within 5 miles of the airport's center, and may not operate any drones in restricted "No Fly" zones.
