Clinton is located along the banks of the Mississippi River and has two bridges across the Mississippi River, the North Bridge connecting Fulton, Illinois and Clinton along Highway 136, and the Gateway Bridge ("South Bridge"), connecting Iowa and Illinois along U.S. Highway 30.

Clinton is a great place to call home! Clinton was first incorporated in 1857 and still boasts a number of magnificent mansions and landmarks related to the city's history as a the lumber capital of the nation in the 1800's.  

While a large city in Iowa, Clinton offers a small town feeling when it comes to living.  Many neighborhoods in Clinton offer tree-lined streets, creating a peaceful and enjoyable backdrop for residential living.

Residents of Clinton also enjoy a high quality of life through numerous recreational opportunities and community events.  The Mississippi River provides a number of recreational opportunities-- boating, kayaking, fishing-- but it also serves a significant role in the City of Clinton's recreational trail system. Discovery Trail allows you to enjoy nature while walking, running, or biking and connects the cities of Clinton and Camanche.  Clinton is also home to the Clinton Lumberkings, a single-A baseball team affiliated with the Seattle Mariners.  Ashford University Field, home of the Lumberkings, is located along Clinton's riverfront, along with the Showboat Theater, which hosts theatrical productions June through August annually.  The Sawmill Museum, Curtis Mansion, and Clinton County Historical Society preserve the history of Clinton and provide educational opportunities for individuals of all ages.

Downtown Clinton also offers many amenities and serves as a retail hub for the area.  You can shop locally in Downtown Clinton or the Lyons District, finding many locally owned shops and restaurants.  There are a number of larger stores to help meet all your shopping needs-- Hy-Vee Food Stores, Kohl's, Blain's Farm and Fleet, Home Depot, Walmart and more.  There is no need to travel far when Clinton has what you need!
